Keep leather reasonably dry
Leather items are water resistant, not waterproof. Water exposure may cause leather to crack, stain, or shrink and will shorten the life of your handmade piece. Be sure to remove any
leather pieces before swimming or showering.
Condition when needed
Use a conditioner appropriate for the leather type.
Test any product in an inconspicuous area first.
Store with care
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and excessive humidity.
Give bags and larger pieces room to keep their shape.
Expect a patina
Quality leather often develops character with use.
Small marks and color changes can become part of the piece's story.
